Will my cat actually scratch the sisal instead of my furniture?
Real sisal (not sisal-wrapped cardboard or rope) is the texture most cats prefer for scratching. Place the Lookout near whatever your cat currently scratches — close enough to redirect them. Most cats make the switch within a week. You can also rub a little catnip into the sisal posts to attract initial interest.
Is it sturdy enough for a larger cat?
The 22 lb max load rating covers most domestic cat breeds. The wide base distributes weight well. That said, for very active large cats (Maine Coons, Norwegian Forest Cats over 15 lbs) who jump hard, a full-size multi-level tree with a larger footprint gives more stability.
